Furniture care and maintenance
Designed to accompany you for years
Every Inusual Studio piece is born with the vocation of lasting over time. We select noble materials and artisanal processes that allow our furniture to evolve naturally, gaining character as the years go by.
Proper maintenance will help preserve its beauty and extend its useful life.
Caring for natural leather
Leather is a living material that changes over time.
Exposure to light, everyday use and contact with people are part of its natural evolution, developing a patina that gives each piece personality.
To keep it in the best condition we recommend:
- Cleaning regularly with a soft, dry cloth.
- Dusting periodically.
- Using only products specific to natural leather when necessary.
- Conditioning the leather following the cleaning-product manufacturer’s recommendations.
We do not recommend:
- Using abrasive products.
- Using alcohol, solvents or bleach.
- Cleaning with excess water.
- Exposing the leather for long periods to direct sunlight or intense heat sources.
Caring for steel
The metal structures of our pieces are protected by high-resistance finishes.
To preserve them properly we recommend:
- Cleaning with a slightly damp microfibre cloth.
- Always drying the surface after cleaning.
- Using neutral soap when necessary.
Avoid:
- Abrasive scourers.
- Products containing ammonia.
- Solvents.
- Corrosive products.
Caring for brass
Brass is a material that evolves naturally over time.
Depending on use and environmental conditions, it may develop a surface patina that is part of its natural behaviour.
If you wish to preserve its original shine, it can be cleaned occasionally using brass-specific products and a soft cloth.
Recommended use
Our products are designed for indoor use.
To ensure their preservation we recommend:
- Avoiding continuous exposure to rain or humidity.
- Not placing the pieces next to direct heat sources.
- Maintaining a stable room temperature whenever possible.
- Using the furniture in accordance with its intended use.
Transport and handling
If you need to move an Inusual Studio piece:
- Always lift it by its frame.
- Avoid dragging it across the floor.
- Protect the surfaces during transport.
- For large-format pieces, we recommend that they be handled by two or more people.
Materials that evolve with you
We work with authentic materials that improve with time.
Small marks, variations in tone or changes in the appearance of leather, steel or brass are part of the natural ageing process and reflect the history of each piece.
We believe this evolution is part of the value of the design and of the authenticity of the materials.
